Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist

While ordinary ministers of the Eucharist are bishops, priests, and deacons, extra-ordinary ministers of the Eucharist serve when there are not enough ordinary ministers at mass. Willingness to serve as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist reflects not only a response to our baptismal call to serve the people of God but a commitment to making Christ present in the sacrament accessible to all the people. 

Some extra-ordinary ministers may also bring the sacrament to sick and homebound members of the community. Commitment to a monthly schedule, to prepare properly for your service and to being on time dressed appropriately for your assigned Mass are aspects of fulfilling this ministry. Training for carrying out these responsibilities is provided by the present ministers.
